Since my cupcakes were wearing off and chipping, I thought I would redo my nails. I got my inspiration on tumblr (my new addiction) from this pic:
I loved the print and thought it would look really cute as a nail look, so here we are.
I've been seeing tribal prints a lot in clothing and fun stuff like that. It came out kinda similar to the original picture, right? I'm really happy with how they turned out which is good considering it took me a good hour. For the small detailing, I used thin brush polishes. If you're planning on doing something like this, I recommend topping it off with a clear top coat just to hold all of the detailing in place. Hope you liked this look! I had fun making it.
Always,
Britta

Cupcake Nails
Today I felt a burst of creativity as I was sitting at home. I've always wanted to do some cupcake nails and I had the day off, so I thought why not? They took forever and as always, I ran into complications, but what would nail art be without a little bit of frustration?
I ended up happy with the result and encourage you to try this out if you have some time and PATIENCE. With that, I hope you all have a good start to your weekend!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Nails
As most of you may know, October has been declared Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Today, I thought I would go along with the theme and do a little bit of nail art to represent support. You can see the pink ribbon on my ring finger which is the official symbol of breast cancer awareness. These nails were super easy and fun! I just used a pointed pencil dipped in pink nail polish for the ribbon.
Have a happy Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Lil Monsters Nail Art
About a month ago I had on an Essie nail polish. It had been on for about a week and it started to chip. Instead of painting where it was needed or taking it off all together, I decided to go over it with some nail art. One thing lead to the next and I ended up with little monsters on my fingers. Well, I decided I hadn't done that precise of a job on it. The eyes looked droopy and the teeth were lopsided and wavy. Soon after my realization, I decided it would be a perfect fit for Halloween. Anything can pass for Halloween. So, that's my excuse for being shaky handed on these nails. Great story right?
What I used.....
- Essie's Damsel in a Dress (base purple color)
- Zoya's Shey (for the teeth)
-random NYC polish (for the iris)
-Seche Vite Fast Drying Top Coat
This is a cute idea for the days leading up to Halloween or even on the day if you're not into dressing up. Hope you enjoyed!

Nail Polish Beauty: Essie's Damsel in a Dress
I found this beauty at my local CVS recently and thought I would share with you guys the fact that it's fantabulous! It's a dark plum color with undertones of lighter purples and when the light hits it, gorgeousness! This color is perfect for the upcoming winter and cooler seasons. The packaging is super practical. I think it's definitely worth picking up!

I recommend applying a top coat over two Damsel in a Dress coats for an even glossier look!

My First Ever Birch Box!
Starting this month, I've signed up for Birch Box. If you guys are not familiar with Birch Box, it is a monthly package that arrives in your mail full of 4-5 deluxe samples of beauty products. If you like them, you can go on Birch Box's website and buy it in a full size. The box is $10 a month or $110 for a year. This month they had designer Cynthia Rowley curate the box of some of her summer must-haves. I will definitely be getting one next month! Let's start in on what I got!
When I saw the nail polish, I freaked and had to try it on right away. Here are some pics of it!
I'm really looking forward to trying everything out. None of these are really things that I would have gone out and bought on my own which is so great about Birch Box. You find things you love that you never thought to try. Hope you enjoyed! Have a happy Friday!

Spring Nails
Spring is here and as we're nearing summer, the weather is getting warmer. I thought today as the heat sunk into my skin that it was time to start showing it was spring through my outfits and accessories. That included my nail polish. For the fresh look I have in these pics, I used (from pinkie to pointer finger) Keep Off the Grass by OPI, A Grape Fit! also by OPI, Sexy Lady by China Glaze, and Japanese Koi (Neon) by China Glaze (my new fave!). On my thumb, I have leftover Sally Hansen Salon Effects in a zebra print from a couple of weeks ago. (It actually stayed for that long!) You can do what I did and put a different color on each nail and play it up with an animal print on the thumb, or you can just use one for your whole hand. Add another splash of spring color with a plastic ring! Keep checking in this week for fun spring fashion ideas!
