Out at Sea

Today I decided to branch out a little and use some blues which is a color I don't find myself using too often. It's always fun for me to do something different just because I never know how it's going to turn out. Turns out I love working with blue! I really like how it came out and I know I'll be using blue more often. For this look, the key is the base. After I primed my eyes, I covered my lid with a black eyeliner. That's what gave the look it's depth, kind of like an ocean which is what I was going for. I hope you like the look just as much as I do!

Back with Another Rainbow Look

Hello lovelies! Yes, I realize I've been MIA lately so I thought I would come back with a fun, bright look. I recently went to IMATS LA (which was amazing!!!) and I did pick up some new products while I was there. For those of you makeup geeks like me who are interested in going to IMATS, I urge you to go. It was so much fun and for those who may be a bit confused on what IMATS (International Makeup Artist Trade Show) is, it's basically one big trade show where every makeup company you can think of comes and sets up their own booth. Most of them are selling products really cheap where others are just there to get their name out. Not only was there beauty type makeup but special effects makeup as well. It can get pretty crazy and packed, but I only went on the Sunday instead of both Saturday and Sunday which I think helped with the lines. The most exciting part of it for me was meeting one of my favorite youtubers Leesha, or Xsparkage. It was unreal getting to see her in person just because I've been watching her on my computer for years. I also got to see Cora, or Vintageortacky, again! That was fun for me because she recognized me from her meet-up I went to last year. So, anyway, those of you interested in going, I highly recommend you go at least once. Alright, enough of my rambling! Here's my look for you guys today.

Galaxy Nails

So I realize I've been doing a lot more nail posts that usual. Hope that's alright with you guys. I've just been in a nail art kinda mood. A few weeks back, I did my friend's nails. I had been on tumblr and the galaxy design was just really popular all over my dashboard. And these adorable galaxy patterned leggings kept popping up everywhere. That is where I got my inspiration for the nails. I watched a couple videos on how to do it and all of them used makeup sponges. So, you thinking the makeup freak I am, I would have an extra makeup sponge laying around that I could rip up and cover in nail polish. I'm disappointed to say I didn't. What kind of a makeup artist am I?? So, anyways, I ended up using just a regular kitchen sponge (clean of course!). And this is what I ended up with.

I wish I would've been able to make the stars a little bit smaller on some of the nails, but other than that, I was pretty happy with the way they turned out. Thanks for stopping by and have a fantabulous weekend!

Always,
Britta

MAC Extra Dimension Eye Shadow in Modern Pewter

Hello lovelies! Sorry I've been gone for so long! I don't think I've gone this long without doing a post and that's just depressing. So, yesterday I did a couple of girls' makeup for their prom. I just wanted to show you one of the main products I ended up using and since its slightly new at MAC, I thought I would share it with you.

With flash.

Natural light.
I loooove the design. I'm always a sucker for products with a stamped look. Even though they don't last very long. This was part of the In Extra Dimension line for $20. That's $5 more than a regular shadow but you have to take in consideration the size. Where the normal ones have 1.5 g, this one has 2 g. I like this product so far and already have a look planned using it. Thanks for stopping by!

Lisa Frank Cheetah Inspiration

When I was really little, I got this Lisa Frank purse from someone. I loved it to death and I still have it. I was inspired to do a look based off of the colors and pattern of the cheetah or leopard (I don't know the difference) that's on my beloved handbag. The only thing I did differently on my look was that I left out the green. I wasn't able to incorporate it. Probably could've if I had tried a little harder, but I ended up liking it without the green anyway. I wore this look to one of my friend's shows of The Hobbit and I got so many compliments on it! I put on some lashes when I went to see it, so I'll show you pics of it with and without the lashes.

Without lashes.
With lashes.
Hope you liked this look! Always, Britta

Tribal Print Nails

Since my cupcakes were wearing off and chipping, I thought I would redo my nails. I got my inspiration on tumblr (my new addiction) from this pic:
I loved the print and thought it would look really cute as a nail look, so here we are.
I've been seeing tribal prints a lot in clothing and fun stuff like that. It came out kinda similar to the original picture, right? I'm really happy with how they turned out which is good considering it took me a good hour. For the small detailing, I used thin brush polishes. If you're planning on doing something like this, I recommend topping it off with a clear top coat just to hold all of the detailing in place. Hope you liked this look! I had fun making it.

March Birchbox: Teen Vogue Edition

This month's Birchbox was really cool because I had the option to either get my regular box with products put together by Birchbox or get a Teen Vogue collaborated one. I love Teen Vogue and have a monthly subscription, so I thought, why not? They put together a box of some of their favorites, products they love at Teen Vogue. I loved it! Here are some pics of what was in it!

tarte LipSurgence lip tint (= <3)

Kerastase Elixir Ultime

You can never have too many hair ties!

Essie Luxeffects

So, to sum it all up this box equals love! And that's really all I have to say. I'm thinking of doing a product overview on the tarte lip tint just because I'm so in love with it! Oh, and in addition to all these products, I also got a discount code for ModCloth, which was pretty cool. Thank you all for reading! Happy Friday!
